Starter Course

The starter course is a three and a half hour introduction to basic principles of source and fact-checking. It is designed for use in college and high-school classes and is free for use or re-use. Take it, share it, teach it, edit it, redistribute it. It’s yours.

Disinfo and the Disciplines

We are working to not only provide general fact-checking expertise to citizens, but to provide students in different disciplines — from journalism to nursing — with an introduction to the basics of misinformation and disinformation in their domain, in order to create a more disinformation-resistant society.

Facebook post showing two similar pictures of Sydney Harbor and claiming that the lack of visible difference in sea-level is proof of a lack of sea-level rise.

Prompt Library

Collaboratively-produced source and fact-checking prompts for use in different disciplines. Prompts have sources and claims of various quality, from good to bad; selected to demo specific techniques and themes. While there are some “true/false” prompts, the majority get at nuances of framing, influence, and trust. The community is also adding related readings and concepts as we go.

Faculty Support Community

We are launching a faculty support community in Slack, with links to community-produced teaching materials and a special Check, Please! screencast creator.
